Student Rights

Access: All students with disabilities have the right to reasonable access of UNBC programs and services.

Confidentiality: All documentation about your disability remains confidential within the Access Resource Centre (ARC). In order for the ARC to facilitate the provision of accommodations to students with disabilities, it may be necessary to request written consent to obtain or release relevant information to support the delivery of such accommodations. This consent to obtain and release information will be governed by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the University's Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Policy and the Access and Accommodation Policy for Students with Disabilities.

Appeal: The Access Coordinator and/or the Access Specialist assesses the documentation of disability provided by you to determine what accommodation(s) will be recommended. You have the right to appeal these recommendations.
