Application Fees

The application fee for a domestic applicant is $76.50 (Canadian funds), and $153.00 (Canadian funds) for an international applicant. The application fee is required to be paid by the application deadline.

Payment Methods

UNBC accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards for online payments.

If you do not wish to pay by credit card, or are applying with a paper application, there are several payment options.

Third Party Payments

Anyone can pay the application fee on your behalf.

If they wish to pay with a credit card, they must either provide you with their credit card information at the time of application, or they must obtain the following information in order for the University Cashiers to match their payment with your application:

  • Your name
  • Your birth date
  • The graduate program you are applying to
  • The intended semester of entry

Refer to the UNBC Payment Options for more information.

Application Fee for Multiple Applications

If you wish to apply to more than one program, you will need to submit a separate application and application fee for each program.

Visiting and Exchange Graduate Students

Visiting and formal exchange graduate students (this excludes non-degree graduate students) do not pay an application fee. The UNBC online application will not charge the application fee if you fall into either category.

The application fee pays for the processing and evaluation of your application and is non-transferrable and non-refundable.

Deferral Deposit

If you are subsequently offered admission and cannot attend the semester listed on your admission offer, you can request a deferral to a future entry of the Program. In order to do so your proposed supervisor and program must be in agreement and a $250 Deferral Deposit (non-refundable and non-transferrable) must be paid. The Deferral Deposit will go towards your tuition fees for the deferred semester of entry.
