This course is geared towards intermediate fly anglers who are interested in developing a greater appreciation for stream/river entomology and fishing techniques. Topics include major stream/river food of trout and flies and tactics are also covered in this course. This is not a fly-tying course although a few flies will be demonstrated.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Sampling for insects
  • Biology, fishing tactics and fly patterns of:
    • Stoneflies
    • Mayflies
    • Caddisflies
  • Fly tying materials for advanced matching the hatch
