Apply to graduate

The application for graduation is available online from July 1st to April 30th every year. The graduation application helps determine which Convocation ceremony you will be assigned to, but eligibility for degree conferral (i.e. getting your degree) is determined by the Office of the Registrar.

Students completing their degree requirements must apply to graduate. If you are applying to graduate for the first time, please apply online via Student Online Services. Otherwise, please complete an application for graduation form. The UNBC Convocation Office will ask graduates to complete an RSVP form closer to the annual Convocation ceremony to indicate their attendance.

Conferral of degrees

UNBC confers degrees three times a year; September, January and May. The degree conferral schedule will depend on meeting requirements in your last semester. If you meet the requirements to have your degree conferred in September or January you will have the option of receiving your parchment before the annual Convocation; however, you will still be invited to the appropriate Convocation ceremony.

Parchments are printed after each semester and will reflect the month the degree is conferred by Senate. UNBC holds each annual Convocation ceremony in late May. Eligible students have the option to receive their parchment prior to the annual Convocation ceremony.

For more information on your degree, conferral dates or your specific graduation application please email us at credentials@unbc.ca.
