Is the UNBC admissions process proceeding as normal?
Yes, students can still communicate with Admissions as they did previously, although in-person service has been halted. All communication will be over email or phone.
Will there be any delays in my application?
As our admission teams have transitioned to working remotely, there may be slight delays. However, for the most part, the processing of applications will be minimally affected.
Is UNBC still accepting applications for January 2021?
Yes! To see the programs for which we are still accepting applications check out our application deadline page.
When can I expect a decision on my application?
The speed of application processing depends on the program and the complexity of the application. For a complete application to our general undergraduate programs (Bachelors of Arts, Commerce, Science, and Planning), you can expect a decision within 2-5 days.
*As always, applicants should be intentional about submitting all required documents and in filling out the application completely and accurately to ensure a quick admissions process. This includes entering interim/ in-progress grades.
Scholarship and award offers are proceeding.
Have award offer timelines been affected?
Some award competitions have been slightly delayed. Read more on the Awards and Financial Aid website.
How will I know if I received an award?
You may check the status of your award applications by logging into your myUNBC / Awards and Financial Aid / Award Application portal. If an award has been emailed to you, it will state 'offer sent'. To accept your award you will need to submit the Notification of Award Acceptance slip, along with a donor thank you letter if one is specified, by scanning or emailing a PDF or MS Word document or a picture attachment to firstname.lastname@example.org.
When can general entrance students expect notice?
The general award recipients (in-course, graduate, and general) will be notified mid-to-late-June.
Will there be an unclaimed awards competition in the fall?
Yes! We will provide more information on unclaimed awards in the fall.
The Fall and Winter schedules are available for viewing with timetable and instructor information. Registration for the Winter semester is open with an updated schedule that indicates the location and delivery modes for all courses. The schedules may, given the current situation, change.
