The Counselling team is here to help UNBC students meet their goals as they journey through their academic life. Please read the following information on how to connect with us.
Hours of operation: Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (closed for lunch 12:00 - 1:00 pm); late hours available, please call.
How to access counselling at UNBC
- Call the Counselling Centre to setup an initial appointment.
- A counsellor will then meet with you over the phone, video, or in person.
- At the end of your initial appointment you will work with the counsellor to establish next steps.
Individual counselling is a one-on-one session based on the client’s specific needs and goals. The duration of these sessions are approximately 50 minutes.
YMINDS Group counselling
YMINDS Mindfulness Group is designed for students (ages 18-30) to help develop skills to effectively manage stress and other mental health concerns, with an emphasis on anxiety reduction. If you find stress and anxiety getting in the way of living your life and/or performing how you want at university, we believe this mindfulness group would be a valuable resource. The goal of this program is to provide you with skills, increased social connection and support to improve and maintain your sense of well-being.
