Indigenization is the new watchword of universities across Canada. Everyone wants to do it, but no one is entirely sure how to. All too often the easy way out has been to simply make students take a First Nation studies course and/or to make Indigenous scholars do the heavy lifting. Factor in budgetary constraints and more and more professional programs wanting professional development in the area and even this becomes untenable. One option has been to look into online training. Join us on 9 April 2021 @ 2pm PDT as Drs. Tracy Beer and Paul Gareau talk about their own work towards Indigenizing the academy, especially with regard to their massive open online course, Indigenous Canada.
