Support high-risk, high-reward and interdisciplinary research. Specifically, the NFRF program seeks to inspire projects that bring disciplines together beyond traditional disciplinary or common interdisciplinary approaches by research teams with the capacity to explore something new that might fail, but that has the potential for significant impact.

Applicants must work closely with the Office of Research and Innovation at both the NOI and Full Application stages as these applications must be submitted to the funding agency by the Office of Research and Innovation (via Convergence Portal).

Applications must be received in the Office of Research and Innovation a minimum of 5 business days in advance of the NOI and Full Application deadlines. Applications must be submitted to the Office of Research and Innovation via Romeo at the Full Application stage. Please allow enough time for Chair and Dean approval.
