Join the First Nations Centre for a full day of events as we welcome new and returning students to UNBC. There will be many opportunities connect, paired with great food and great prizes!

9:30am - 11am: Bannock & Tea Meet and Greet in the Elders Room (7-110)
If you're new to campus this is a wonderful opportunity to connect with FNC staff, Elders, and students, as well as other UNBC staff and faculty. We are happy to give short tours of the space and explain the different roles staff play within the Centre. If you're returning to campus - come say "hi" - we've missed you!
11am - 12pm: Nenachalhuya - The Cedar Plank Project Reveal in the Gathering Place (5-123)
Join us for a short ceremony in Lhuhuhwhezdel: The Gathering Place as we officially celebrate the completion of this project which saw artist Clayton Gauthier carve and paint the logos of 32 northern BC First Nations now surrounding the walls of Lhuhuhwhezdel.

12pm - 2pm: Garden Party & Social throughout the FNC and the Wabooz Garden
Enjoy Indigenous-influenced appetizers, sit at the Big Drum with Elder Marcel and the Lheidli T'enneh Men's Drum Group, join the Talking Circle and Smudge led by FNC Manager Bev Best, or hang out and play lawn games with other students.
5pm - 7pm: Weeks of Welcome Bingo
In partnership with UNBC Student Life, join us in-person to play Bingo in the Winter Garden, or sign up to play online at home.
