On July 30, 2021, the Supreme Court of Canada issued a unanimous decision in the York University vs. Canadian Copyright Licensing Agency (Access Copyright) case.  This highly anticipated decision affirmed that the tariff is not mandatory and gave guidance on ensuring fair dealing maintains a balance between author and user rights. Friday, September 03 at Noon we will review background on the case and the implications for UNBC students and faculty as both creators and users of copyrighted material.
