The United Way of Northern BC is a non-profit organization with the mission of improving lives, building communities, and being a positive force in the communities UNBC serves, whether in Fort St John, Prince George, Quesnel, or Terrace. The United Way has demonstrated impacts throughout our region and nationwide. Partnering with the United Way is one of the finest ways to honour UNBC’s special mission and deep relationship to the communities of North-Central British Columbia.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the United Way has faced unprecedented demand from community agencies throughout the north coping with the many dislocations that COVID produced. Though vaccines have rolled out and restrictions have eased, community need has not diminished. With the end of the pandemic (hopefully!) ahead of us, we have an opportunity to assist those in our region to recover from COVID’s effects on businesses, communities, and families. We also have an opportunity to go beyond—that is, to make Northern BC stronger than ever. We’ve set an ambitious target this year, seeking to raise $23,000 for our communities in the North.

As we move into slow recovery from COVID, and as we ponder how not only to recover but to grow, our fellow Northerners need our support. Won’t you join us? Here are some of the ways you can help.

  • Sign up for payroll deductions, if you aren’t yet a donor
  • Donate on a one-time basis
  • Increase your donation, if you are already a donor
  • Buy big at our annual book sale (this year, 19—21 October in the T&L Atrium)

Every bit helps! In the words of our official campaign song, written and performed by our own Dr. Kevin Hutchings, “a little bit of love goes a long way.” Please share the love with our communities through your support of the United Way.
