Happy New Year from the UNBC Arts Council!  We invite you to start the new year by considering your favourite pets (past or present) and submitting in their honour.

During all difficult times many of us lean on our animal companions or pets for love and support. This has been especially true for many of us since March of 2020.  

So, we thought that now would be a good time to celebrate them with an online community exhibition. 

We KNOW that many of you have photos, videos or artwork of your furry (or not!) friends!

This is a call for submissions for an upcoming exhibition and celebration hosted by

the UNBC Arts Council. At the ONLINE reception/celebration event, each submission will be

shared, and those who submitted will be allowed to speak about their submission if they so choose.

We encourage you to submit for this OPEN, WELCOMING, exhibition that will emphasize community, coping, caring, & OUR BELOVED ANIMAL FRIENDS (present and past)! 

BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+ community members and other people from under-represented groups are particularly encouraged to submit works. Everyone in the UNBC community is invited to participate.

This exhibit will take place virtually, and we can support any digital media, ie. photos, photos of artwork, videos, poems, songs. Really– however you want to show off and celebrate your pet, as long as it can be displayed on a screen! 

To submit (1-2 entries per person, please), complete this online form before January 28th, 2022.

We cannot WAIT to learn about your LOVE OF PETS and the PETS YOU LOVE!
