What food can you find in the forest?

A group of UNBC students discovered how to locate edible plants and find potential hunting sources during a walk near our Prince George campus.  In this two-week Food Systems: Local, Global and Indigenous Perspectives course, students engaged with concepts and discussed case studies on issues relating to food systems from around the world.

First Nations Studies Associate Professor Dr. Agnieszka Pawlowska-Mainville led this intensive hands-on experiential learning course.  In addition to their forest walk, the students learned about smoking fish, worked in a garden, and made sandwiches for those without homes in Prince George.
