Discover the digital skills that will drive tomorrow's coolest communication, most imaginative innovations and most essential societal improvements. Go Code Girl is a free opportunity for girls and non-binary youth in Grades 7 - 10 to learn more about the rapidly-growing fields of technology, computing and software engineering. Meet women currently studying computer science, learn about some of the amazing things females in the field are doing, and participate in fun hands-on activities. 

Date: March 2nd, 2024
Time: 10am - 3pm (day of registration opens 9:30am)
Location: UNBC Prince George - Starts at Teaching & Learning Atrium - Building 10 (Map 2024)
Cost: Free including pizza lunch

Schedule

  •   9:30am – 10:00am: Student sign-in and day-off registration (Teaching & Learning Atrium, Building 10) 
  • 10:00am – 10:30am: Introduction and Icebreakers
  • 10:30am – 12:00am: Gathering Environmental Insight - Data Collection with Arduinos
  • 12:00pm – 12:45pm: Lunch  (Free pizza and beverages)
  • 12:45pm –   2:15pm: Robot-Building Challenge with Lego Mindstorms
  •   2:15pm –   3:00pm: Bits, Bytes, and Bright Futures: A Computer Science Career Panel
