Learn more about the pharmacy profession.
Pharmacists are health professionals who have specialized knowledge of medicines and how they work in the body. As part of a range of work that they can do, they advise patients on the safe and effective use of prescription and over-the-counter medications, and also work within the larger health care team to ensure the medications prescribed for patients contribute to the best possible health outcomes.
Individuals who wish to apply for an entry-to-practice Pharmacy program must first complete a minimum of two years of undergraduate study, including specific course requirements. This is followed by four years of study in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.
