This is your weekly digest of system maintenance/information and downtime. All notices are also posted on the myUNBC Student Portal, our.unbc. ca for Employees, support.unbc.ca and on unbc.ca /its. Please see one of these locations for maintenance notices.
ITS Information Notice: File Sharing Palo Alto Policy Change as of November 22nd.
UNBC ITS is implementing a system change that will enhance security related to file sharing applications. If you have any issues with specialized file sharing protocols such as torrents, please contact the service desk.
Please ensure that you have the legal permission to share or make public any content on the UNBC network. If you distribute copyrighted information without authorization, including through illicit peer-to-peer file sharing, you could face disciplinary action in addition to legal repercussions.
Note: This will not affect services such as Microsoft Teams, One Drive or Google Drive.
ITS Maintenance Notice: Wednesday, November 23rd || Time: 8:00pm
SSO Integration for desktop.unbc.ca: When you log into the virtual desktop (desktop.unbc.ca) your sign on experience is going to look different. Remember to enter your username as firstname.lastname@example.org, not First.Last@unbc.ca.
Note: During this maintenance period, users may be unable to login to the virtual desktop for up to 1 hour.
