Faculty Agreement Update - August 10, 2020

UNBC Faculty Association
August 10, 2020

The University’s interim President and Faculty Association President issued a joint statement to the University community regarding the status of negotiations:

Dr. Rader and I want to provide an update to the University community on the status of the arbitration between the Faculty Association and the University of Northern British Columbia regarding collective agreement discussions.

As you know, the Employer and Faculty Association agreed to engage in Final-Offer Selection through Arbitration, which was held on July 23 and 24. Unfortunately, we were unable to complete the process during that time. We are collaboratively working toward selecting new dates in the Fall to complete the process. The reason for later dates is the availability of all the parties to meet to complete the arbitration.

With this, Dr. Rader and I are conveying to the University community that we are committed to the mutually agreed-upon process and that it continues to proceed as outlined. Dr. Rader and I will continue to update the University community as things move to completion and we thank all of you for your patience during the process.
