Biography

Martha MacLeod came to UNBC in 1994 from a professional and practice background in nursing management and continuing education. Her career at UNBC included the roles of Chair of the School of Nursing, the Northern Health-UNBC Knowledge Mobilization Research Chair, and Co-Lead of the UNBC Health Research Institute. Martha became Professor Emerita in the School of Nursing when she retired in 2022.

Research and Expertise

Martha continues to take a qualitative approach to examining health services. She takes a hermeneutic approach to studying implementation and exploring the often overlooked yet vital practices of nurses in rural and remote communities.
