Biography
I am a faculty member at the Department of Recreation and Tourism Management at the Faculty of Management at Vancouver Island University, Canada. I obtained my PhD from the University of Alberta. Prior to this appointment, I served as an instructor and post-doctoral fellow at the University of Alberta and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Northern British Columbia.
Research and Expertise
By integrating quantitative and qualitative methods, my aim is to extend the scope of tourism planning that successfully improves communities’ resilience through addressing the needs of individuals, communities, and local tourism businesses. I also conduct behaviour research to understand people’s motivations to participate in sustainable recreation and tourism.
