Farhan, Dr. Sara
Biography
I am an historian of the modern world with specific interest in medicine, professionalization, and education in the modern Middle East. I have a broad training in cultural and social histories accumulated in interdisciplinary environments. My work esteems the intersection between colonialism, gender and the production and reproduction of class dynamics in the context of professionalization. I am particularly interested in the politics of archives and archiving, the complex process of knowledge production, and the intricate gate-keeping practices that reproduce it.
