About

Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar is involved in many aspects of a student's university career. The services provided range from student admission and course registration to degree audits for graduate students and coordination of Convocation. The Office of the Registrar is also responsible for maintaining student records.

The Registrar is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the University’s Office of the Registrar.  The Registrar also acts as the Secretariat to the University’s Senate and many of the Senate Committees. The Office of the Registrar coordinates the UNBC Convocation Ceremonies, develops the course schedules, and produces many of the university’s publications including the Undergraduate and Graduate Calendars.

Admissions

The Admissions unit is responsible for processing applications and determining a student’s eligibility for admission to UNBC.  In addition to admitting domestic and international students from secondary schools, colleges, universities, and alternate routes, the Admissions unit is also responsible for assigning appropriate transfer credit for students.

Records & Operations

The Records & Operations unit is responsible for student system management, including student records, curriculum management, registration of students, and transcripts. In addition, the unit manages the university’s scheduling process, including courses and exams. Members of the Records & Operations unit staff the Office of the Registrar front counter, answer general email and telephone inquiries, direct students to appropriate services, and are often the first point of contact between students and the Office of the Registrar.
