Prince George, BC - The official release of the 2015 Canada West soccer schedules has the women's team opening at home, while the men start their season on the road.

The first complete weekend of Canada West conference play on both the men’s and women’s side is slated for September 11-13. The women's soccer team will play host to the UBCO Heat on Friday evening and the TRU WolfPack on Sunday afternoon in their season opener. The men open their season with back-to-back road weekends, starting in Victoria September 11-12. The home opener for the men will be the third week of regular season play, September 26-27, when they host the UFV Cascades.

The Timberwolves men's soccer team will face a tough challenge this year with only two home weekends. In a 12 game season the men will play eight games on the road and only four at home. The women's team will play at 14 game schedule, with eight road games and six home games.

2015 marks a significant change to the women’s playoff format, with 12 teams earning spots in the postseason for the first time in conference history.

The women’s playoff schedule features a regional playoff weekend, with three teams from both the Pacific and Prairie regions advancing to the conference tournament – the Canada West Select Six. The highest advancing seed from each region receives a quarterfinal bye at the conference tournament, before playing a semi-final matchup against the other region’s quarterfinal winner.

The format replaces the existing eight-team playoff, which featured a quarterfinal weekend and a conference final four.

Both conference championship tournaments are slated for November 5 to 8.
