Brooke Molby expects to be busy this season. The Timberwolves are fielding the youngest roster in program history, but they’re buoyed by their fourth-year goalkeeper, who is UNBC’s all-time leader in wins and clean sheets. A superb athlete and tremendous leader, expect the Squamish product to battle for every ball against a talented and relentless Spartans side.

Player to watch: Elizabeth Hicks, D
Looking to put a cap on a tremendous Canada West career, Elizabeth Hicks is sure to put her stamp on this weekend’s matchup. A First Team conference all-star, a Canada West champion, and a member of Canada’s Universiade team, the fifth-year defender has the ability to impact all areas of the game. The TWolves will need to be aware of where Hicks is on the pitch.

UNBC’s Claire Turner

On the Trinity Western Spartans…

“Fast and aggressive, both attacking and defensively. We are really going to have to stick together, come out strong, show them what we go, and, again, have fun.”

On what the message is the 21 first-year Timberwolves…

“You’re not going to be able to do everything perfectly, but if you can pick one thing; whether it is contact, movement off the ball, or touch on the ball, just pick a couple thing and focus. Don’t get distracted by negatives. If it is a goal, try to get back to your spot and reset.”

On playing at Masich Place for the first time in two years…

“I love our fans.  The energy is always positive, for both our team and the away team. We build everyone up, and we make it a great environment. We have fun. I am very excited to play.”

On pregame excitement…

“We have a lot of fans who travel with us, that’s how great that are. But having the university students, and our fans at home, hearing your name and number. It gives you the boost that a lot of us need.”
