The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) invites applications for a probationary or continuing position in the School of Health Sciences at the rank of Senior Laboratory Instructor I, with a proposed starting date of July 1, 2024. Primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to support all degrees in the School of Health Sciences with laboratory and tutorial instruction; student evaluation; exam invigilation; curriculum management and development; and other teaching support activities as assigned by the Chair. Opportunities for administrative responsibility and leadership may also be available to the successful candidate. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Applicants for this position should hold a Master’s degree (PhD is preferred) in a Kinesiology, Physiology or Heath Sciences discipline and have a growing record of scholarly activity, as well as present evidence of and commitment to teaching excellence. For this position, we seek an individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Access, Excel and PowerPoint software. Familiarity with human physiology testing equipment would be an asset. You must be able to work collaboratively with faculty, and support staff in the development and delivery of high-quality, innovative education experiences for students. These will include a range of hands-on, audiovisual, text-based and interactive web-based modalities. Experience in an applied health profession would be considered favourably.
