The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) invites applications for one (1) sessional instructor position as Lab Facilitator in the School of Nursing for the May 2024 semester. NRSG 411 – Professional Practice: Community Health Nursing

This course introduces and reinforces key concepts of community health nursing with a focus on primary health care, the social determinants of health, and epidemiology of rural and northern populations. Students explore various community nursing roles with individuals, families and communities, including the RN role in integrated primary care teams. Opportunities are provided to engage in community-focused approaches to health promotion, disease and disability prevention, and support of those living with chronic conditions.

Teaching Schedule

Lab sessions for this course are scheduled for Wednesdays, 12:30 – 3:20 PM, April 29 – June 7, 2024. Lab facilitators must be available for all lab sessions in this time frame. Labs will take place at the Wood Innovation Design Centre in downtown Prince George.
 

Candidates must hold current registration in good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as an RN or NP. Candidates with an MScN, experience in community health nursing, and prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level or in nurse education are preferred. Candidates with a BScN and relevant experience in community health nursing and/or nurse education will be considered.
