IR Reports - Student Surveys

UNBC Surveys

UNBC regularly conducts Surveys of our students and alumni with the following partners in order to seek feedback for quality assessment.  Participation in these surveys is optional and we value the student feedback allowing UNBC to make informed decisions for the university and for the benefit of our students.

  • Canadian University Survey Consortium  (CUSC) This undergraduate student survey, conducted through CUSC, cycles annually between first year, middle year, and graduating students. The goal is to better understand students' experiences at university, provide benchmarks across time, and comparisons among universities.  Publications showing results from all participating institutions are available on the CUSC website.

  • National Survey of Student Engagement  (NSSE) A survey of first-year and fourth-year undergraduate students conducted by NSSE at the Center for Postsecondary Research, Indiana University School of Education designed for assessing the quality of undergraduate education.  UNBC participates every 2 or 3 years.

  • Canadian Campus Wellbeing Survey A new survey from CCWS assessing the well-being of students in a number of categories and executed through UBC survey tools.

UNBC survey publications are available on the UNBC SharePoint at UNBC Survey Reports.

External Surveys

IR also reports aggregated UNBC information to other organizations for purposes such as research, university rankings and news articles including Macleans, Globe and Mail, and Times World University Rankings.  We do not provide student contact information to these organizations but students may find that they are invited to participate in these organizations surveys through other means.  UNBC receives some feedback from these surveys but the majority comes to us in the form of reporting in their magazines and on their websites, both of which are available to everyone.

Some external publications are available on the UNBC SharePoint at UNBC Survey Reports.
