The 11th annual Moose Hide Campaign Day takes place Thursday, May 12th, 2022.

Join us in this day of ceremony, where all Canadians are called to join together to take a stand against violence towards women and children and to take practical steps for our collective journey of reconciliation.

In previous years, UNBC hosted the largest Regional Moose Hide Campaign Gathering outside of the Provincial Gathering in Victoria, with over 300 attendees on campus in 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Moose Hide Campaign Day will be held online, with the guidance of traditional knowledge keepers. At UNBC, we will be joining the combined national and provincial gatherings online on May 12th and encouraging others to do the same.

Each year we come together to re-commit in our pledge to see an end to violence toward women and children. To remember those we have lost. To share our stories and struggles. To grow closer through the experience of fasting and ceremony. To motivate one and other with all we have managed to achieve.
On Moose Hide Campaign Day men and boys are challenged--and all are invited--to fast together from sunrise to sunset to deepen our experience and resolve to create safe families, communities and a safe country for all women and children. Learn more about fasting here.

UNBC students, staff, and faculty on campus are welcome to join us in Lhuhuhwhezdel: The Gathering Place (5-123) from 8:30am to 1:00pm as we witness the livestream together.
