Dear University Community,

UNBC has matured into a celebrated research-intensive and learner-centred university. Entering strategic planning to guide its next chapter, UNBC is committed to the pursuit of ideas, the creation and dissemination of knowledge, and meeting the needs of the communities we serve through teaching, research and service, retaining the vision of the 16,000 people who came together in the late 1980s to create a University in the North, for the North as a core value. 

UNBC will officially launch its new collaborative strategic planning process on Tuesday, November 22. Now is your opportunity to share your voice, and to be a champion for the future of UNBC by helping set the goals and directions that support future waves of students, professors, staff, programs, research, community partnerships, and more.

Please join us in the Canfor Theatre at 11:00 a.m. for a launch event and afterwards in the McCaffray Hall Atrium for refreshments and celebration from noon until 1:00 p.m. During the launch event, we’ll hear from several speakers about the project, its importance, and how we’ll move forward toward a strategic plan. Those working and studying at regional campuses or working remotely will also be able to participate. We’ll have live gatherings and a Zoom webinar format, including a Q and A session. The following regional/remote options are available, all taking place simultaneously:
