Accessibility

Introduction

At the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), we are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for all members of our community. Accessibility is a key aspect of our commitment to diversity and inclusion. The Accessible British Columbia Act offers us the chance to assess and enhance accessibility across the entire university comprehensively. Collaboratively, we can move forward with a more inclusive and accessible campus for everyone.

Updates to this page will be made continuously with more information.

Accessibility Feedback Form

What do we mean by barrier?

Accessibility is a comprehensive concept used to gauge the degree to which a product, device, service, or environment is available for use by its intended audiences. As outlined on accessiblecampus.ca, there are five identified barriers to accessibility for individuals with disabilities. These barriers include attitudinal, organizational or systemic, architectural or physical, information or communications, and technological aspects. For detailed information on each barrier, you can explore accessiblecampus.ca.
