The lecture investigates the current knowledge regarding the aging process and life expectancy in all animals in particular humans. This includes a look at the causes of death in developed countries in the 21st century where major causes of early death due to starvation, predation, infectious and parasitic disease have been curtailed and aging has even become an option.
