Open Textbooks at UNBC

In this Brown Bag session Heather Empey (UNBC Library) and Grant Potter (UNBC Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology) will facilitate conversations and explorations of open textbooks.

An open textbook is licensed under an open copyright license, and made available online to be freely used by students, teachers and members of the public. Many open textbooks are distributed in either print, or online. Open textbooks may be downloaded or purchased at little or no cost.

The BC post-secondary system is an international leader in the support and growth of open textbooks. Recent developments in BC and links to BC peer-reviewed open textbooks currently available can be found at http://open.bccampus.ca/call-for-proposals/ :
