Pre-Northworks employment skills sessions
Join local business experts as they share their expertise regarding business etiquette, accepted practices, and work and communication styles. Speakers will provide short, engaging presentations, allowing ample time for questions from the students in attendance. Specific topics include the following:
- Resume writing – What do employers want to know?
- Effectively working with a new team – How to make those first weeks easier.
- Employment standards and contracts – What every employee should know.
- Interview skills – How to prepare and what to expect.
- Networking – The gateway to opportunity.
- Workplace Safety – An accident? What happens now?
Lessons learned at these sessions will strengthen students’ skill sets as they prepare to enter the workforce, or enhance skills for those who are already in the workforce and seeking to transform or advance their careers.
Plus, a pizza lunch!
