Department of English Chair Karin Beeler recently published a peer-reviewed article "’I Feel Like I Became a Zombie’: COVID-19, Zombies and English Paratextual/Paramedia Responses to South Korean Music and Film” in a special issue of PopMeC (June 2021).

Dr. Beeler beautifully articulates how the representations of the zombie allow viewers of Day6’s music video to reflect on their own realms of experience, including personal experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
