Professorial Lecture Series

Following in the footsteps of many institutional and cultural practices, the lecture given by a Professor on the advent of their promotion is a celebration of learning, a recognition of sacrifice and hard work, and an opportunity for others to know more about the life, career, and many forms and directions which success in research and teaching takes.

The Faculty of Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences and Humanities established its inaugural Professorial Lecture Series in Fall 2022. This lecture series stems from the tradition when newly-appointed Chaired Professors would deliver their inaugural or rectorial addresses, which often examined the fundamental elements of their academic discipline.

Below you will find a repository of upcoming lectures, past lectures and video recordings from the lecture series for quick access and inspiration for viewers.
