Underpinned by the objectives of the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), the renewed Master of Education program is the preparation of public intellectuals who are prepared to lead and inform policy and practice within the context of People, Place and Land – particularly in rural and remote contexts – locally and beyond. The will degree offer two specializations: Exceptionality Education (currently Special Education) and Transformational Leadership: People, Place, and Land (currently Multi-Disciplinary Leadership).

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates in their choice of specialization will demonstrate how to appreciate and engage in the scholarship of engagement within their professions and how to place emphasis on becoming public intellectuals and thought leaders
