In 1945, while World War II was in its final months, a documentary film appeared in Prince Rupert. It was produced by the young Prince Rupert Health Unit, under the guidance of the Medical Health Officer, Dr. Roger Knipe. Its purpose was to promote the concept of “health units” across northern BC. This film now provides a unique glimpse into the community, the region, and the health concerns of the time. The original narration has been added to the film by Dr. Knipe’s son and daughter.
