In partnership with Northern Health and the Northern Medical Program, UNBC is opening a Statistics Canada Research Data Centre (RDC@UNBC). Research Data Centres are secure facilities where researchers can access confidential microdata owned by Statistics Canada. In this presentation, Dr. Hardy will provide an overview of the types of data available and the procedures researchers must follow to access the data. Available datasets include, for example, surveys of perceptions of neighbourhood environments, blood samples for measuring exposure to toxins, and census data. Data sets of possible interest to NRESi faculty, students, and researchers will be described.

The 2016 NRESi Annual Awards presentation will follow the colloquium presentation.

The Natural Resources & Environmental Studies Institute (NRESi) at UNBC hosts a weekly lecture series at the Prince George campus. Anyone from the university or wider community with interest in the topic area is welcome to attend. Presentations are also made available to remote participants through Livestream. More information will be posted about these presentations as it becomes available.

Past NRESi colloquium presentations and special lectures can be viewed on our video archive, available here.
