The summer of 2017 was the worst wildfire season on record in the province of British Columbia. Wildfires have widespread impacts on the environment, communities and health. This session will explore climate change, conservation, planning, and provincial and regional responses to wildfires. The four panel members will discuss what they perceive to be important steps in planning and protecting our landscapes and health from the local to global level.

The Natural Resources & Environmental Studies Institute (NRESi) at UNBC hosts a weekly lecture series at the Prince George campus. Anyone from the university or wider community with interest in the topic area is welcome to attend. Presentations are also made available to remote participants through Livestream and Blue Jeans.
