Topic: Developing the Healthcare Travelling Roadshow

Abstract: Since 2010, the Healthcare Travelling Roadshow has been inspiring rural youth to consider careers in healthcare, through a highly interactive, interprofessional, near peer teaching approach. This initiative has grown from a simple grass roots initiative, into a significant provincial collaboration. We have developed a Virtual Healthcare Travelling Roadshow website, which hosts Career Spotlight videos, on the different healthcare careers. We are currently moving from program evaluation, into longer term impact research. Some of the nuance of academic generalism and intellectual property in a collaborative community engagement project will be discussed.
