Orientation Day
Prince George Campus Fall Orientation Day, September 5th, 2023
Student Life and Orientation have curated a fun and vibrant day to orient you to the Prince George campus, meet your Faculty, the various supports and services on campus and in the city of Prince George, and find students who are in your programs with you.
- 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
- Check-In:
- Campus Tours:
- Tag along with the UNBC Recruitment Team as they guide you around campus and share some fun and helpful facts about being a student here!
- Meet Your Faculty:
- Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) - Room 8-166
- FSE students are asked to be in Room 8-166 by 9:15 for a Faculty specific orientation. Dean Roberts wanted us to let you know there will be prizes!
- Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) - Room 10-4588
- FBE students are asked to be in Room 10-4588 by 9:25 for a Faculty specific orientation that will begin at 9:30.
- Faculty of Environment (FE) - Room 7-170/172 in the Bentley Centre
- FE students are welcome to drop by Room 7-170/172 for an informal drop-in session with members of your Faculty.
- Faculty of Human and Health Sciences (FHHS) - Canfor Lecture Theatre, Room 6-213
- Faculty of Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, and Humanities (FISSSH) - Room 6-205
- FISSSH students are asked to be in Room 6-205 as close to 9:00 a.m. as possible for a formal session with members of your Faculty. There will be refreshments provided.

- 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Games in the Agora Courtyard:
- Break the ice with your new friends by challenging them to a game of jumbo Connect Four, basketball shootout and more! Don't forget to drop by the photo-booth and capture a memory of the day.

- Want to know more about what services UNBC, our valued sponsors, and the city of Prince George have to offer? Take a stroll through Student Services Street and the Winter Garden to learn more about what's here for YOU!
- First Nations Centre Drop-In Tours and Bannock
- Drop by the FNC for a tour and information about the services they provide and enjoy some freshly made bannock!

- FHHS Lunch in the Charles J. McCaffrey Atrium:
- Join UNBC President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Geoffrey Payne, Faculty of Health and Human Sciences Dean Dr. Rebecca Schiff, and her faculty, and staff for lunch in the Charles J. McCaffrey Atrium.
- FE and FISSSH Lunch in the Bentley Centre:
- Join UNBC Vice-President Academic and Provost Dr. Wendy Rodgers, Faculty of Environment Dean Dr. Nicola Koper, Faculty of Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, and Humanities Dean Dr. Kriston Rennie and their, faculty, and staff for lunch in the Bentley Centre.
- FSE and FBE Lunch in the Teaching and Learning Building Atrium:
- Join City of Prince George Mayor Simon Yu, Faculty of Science and Engineering Dean Dr. Deborah Roberts, Faculty of Business and Economics Dean Dr. Ronald Camp, and their faculty and staff for lunch in the Teaching & Learning Building Atrium.
- FHHS Lunch in the Charles J. McCaffrey Atrium:

- Procession to the Northern Sport Centre
- Join the UHNBC Drummers as they sing and drum everyone over to the Northern Sport Centre for the Welcome Ceremony.

- 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
- Welcome Ceremony at the Northern Sport Centre
- Wrap up your first day at the Prince George campus with a ceremony held in your honour. Singing, drumming, speeches, a basketball scrimmage between faculty/staff and students, and, best of all, PRIZES for attending!!

- School of Social Work MSW Program Orientation
- The School of Social Work will be welcoming their new graduate student cohort to the Prince George campus. Included in this Orientation session will be a welcome from the School of Social Work Program Chair and the Dean of the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences, a meet and greet with faculty, and information on what to expect as a new MSW student. This session is only open to new MSW students and information will be communicated directly via the School of Social Work.
- School of Education Orientation
- The School of Education will be welcoming their new cohorts to the Prince George campus. Information about this session will be communicated directly to students via the School of Education so please keep an eye on your @unbc.ca email! This session is open only to new Education students.
