Quesnel Company Receives First Contract For New North Cariboo Community Campus

May 17, 2004 For Immediate Release

Len Gamache Construction of Quesnel has been awarded the contract for preliminary construction work on the new North Cariboo Community Campus project, a joint initiative of CNC and the University of Northern BC.
The contract involves reconstruction and extension of Campus Way (formerly Rodeo Road), construction of a service road on the new campus property, and the provision of underground infrastructure for utilities and telecommunications. Work on the campus site will start on May 20 and will take an estimated four weeks to complete.
A second tender call for the next phase of the project—construction of the 50,000-square-foot, two-storey campus building—will be issued later this week. The project schedule calls for construction on the new building to start early in July, following completion of the preliminary site work.
Construction of the new campus will be completed in 12 months, enabling the College and University to occupy the new facilities in time for the start of classes on September 6, 2005.
