UNBC Hosts Regional Grad Celebrations

The University of Northern British Columbia will be hosting graduation
events in various northern BC communities to celebrate the successes of
local students in completing degree, certificate, and diploma programs.
In total, the 2004 graduating class is UNBC's largest ever, with just
over 720 grads. About 64% of those graduating this year have indicated
that they are from northern BC. Following the main graduation ceremony
in Prince George on May 28th, regional grad celebrations will be held:

At each of the events, many of the students who completed all of their
coursework in regional centres will be present to be recognized for their
accomplishment. Since 1994, the year UNBC opened for full operations,
more than 220 students have completed their programs in regional campuses.
This year's Convocation events are also including the official installation
of Peter Bentley as UNBC's third Chancellor, and the awarding of honorary
doctoral degrees to Haida artist Robert Davidson and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
research pioneer Dr Kwadwo Asante.
