UNBC Hosts Commonwealth Conference

August 21, 2006
Senior officials from 13 universities are visiting Prince George starting this weekend to participate in an annual benchmarking conference hosted by the Association of Commonwealth Universities at UNBC. Delegates have come from Jamaica, Botswana, South Africa, England, Wales, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada.

The Commonwealth Universities’ benchmarking program started ten years ago and is geared to promoting effective management at universities and providing tools to measure improvements in operations and services. This year, the main topics are developing management capacity, allocating resources, and university fundraising operations. The conference has never before been held at UNBC and 30 delegates are attending.

UNBC first participated in the benchmarking program in 2003.

The conference wraps up on August 23.
