Biography
Dr. Besserer is an Emergency physician and Trauma Team Leader who works at the University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George, BC. He currently holds a joint academic appointment as Assistant Professor in the UBC Department of Emergency Medicine and the UNBC Division of Medical Sciences. Research interests include resuscitation and prehospital/transport medicine with a focus on the rural and remote context.
He is a graduate of the UBC Northern Medical Program and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Emergency Medicine. He holds a Master’s degree in Disaster Medicine and is a medical consultant and licensed Critical Care Paramedic with BC Emergency Health Services. He is also a team physician with the WHL’s Prince George Cougars.
