Selbie, Dr. Daniel
Biography
Dr. Selbie is a researcher with Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s (DFO) Science Branch, and Head of the Lakes Research Program at the Cultus Lake Salmon Research Laboratory (CLSRL) at Cultus Lake, B.C. Their lab is one of the four DFO Science Centers in the Pacific Region, and the main research facility for the study of freshwater ecosystems.
Research and Expertise
Dan Selbie’s research is focused on freshwater ecosystem science and fisheries, with specializations in lake and salmon ecology, with diverse research interests in other areas of environmental science. He leads internally- and externally-funded fisheries, limnological, paleolimnological, and watershed research addressing freshwater and ocean-atmospheric drivers of salmon population variability, the effects of multiple-stressors on lakes and salmon production, and the impacts of climate change on freshwaters.
