Nechako River Basin Research Program
The IWRG is currently engaged in a second phase of research in the Nechako River Basin. This new five-year research program is funded in part by a ~$500,000 grant from the Nechako Environmental Enhancement Fund (NEEF). The second phase of their research builds on their four-year study in Phase One of their research, in which they examined the impacts of climate change and water security, sediment sources and dynamics, and developed tools to help inform integrated understanding and decision-making in the watershed. The proposed research of this program continues to address some key concerns brought forward by the NEEF management committee in their final report.
