Biography

Having grown up in beautiful northwestern BC, Anita considers herself a northerner. She holds both a PhD and a BSc in Psychology and an MA in Gender Studies. Anita's teaching and research interests are informed and inspired by her previous work in women's shelters and feminist organizations on northern Vancouver Island and in the west Kootenays.

Research and Expertise

Anita's research focuses on sexual violence and sexual objectification. Her work explores negative outcomes and protective factors related to women's experiences of being sexually objectified.
